Pupillage

Unfortunately No.8 Chambers is not currently offering pupillage places.

Mini-pupillage

No.8 Chambers will consider applications for mini-pupillage from suitable candidates. Through our mini pupillage places No.8 Chambers seek to offer students an insight into the working life of a practising barrister. Mini pupillages in Chambers are usually offered for a period of five days (Monday to Friday). During the week it is likely that you will follow several members of Chambers attending courts and tribunal hearings in and around Birmingham, in addition to spending time in Chambers.

Can I apply?

You must be an undergraduate/graduate who has studied some law by the time of your mini-pupillage.

We consider five criteria to be particularly important: honesty and integrity, advocacy skills, motivation for a career at the Bar and at No.8 Chambers, intellectual ability and inter-personal skills.

How do I apply?

If you are interested in applying, please send a copy of your CV and a covering letter in support of your application to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., including dates of availability in the relevant period.

Equal Opportunities

Chambers operates an equal opportunities policy and a successful candidate will be selected without reference to race, colour, religious or political views, gender, marital or domestic status, disability or sexual orientation.
