International Women's Day Seminar - Birmingham City University

International Women’s Day, 8 March 2019

Davinder Dhaliwal and Maninder Chaggar of No.8 Chambers were honoured to be invited as guest speakers by the Law School at Birmingham City University for their “INSIGHTS INTO LAW CONFERENCE” on 7 March 2019. The panel of speakers who participated in this important event were invited as inspirational women in the law who encourage gender diversity, inclusion and equality in the legal profession.

Davinder provided an insight into her successful family law practice at the Birmingham Bar and role as a Deputy District Judge. She gave a well received motivational presentation designed to build the confidence of the students, and encouraging more women in law and the judiciary so that the justice system is reflective of the society it represents.

The students had a snapshot of Maninder’s career specialising in Human Rights and how to succeed at the Bar as a black BAME female.

The Q & A session was a fantastic opportunity to interact with the students at the University
