Michael specialises in Immigration and Asylum and Civil Law including Credit Hire and Firearms appeals.
Michael is a mature entrant to the Bar having previously had a successful career in industry. As a result he brings with him a wealth of experience in dealing pragmatically with issues and a natural empathy with clients.
Completing pupillage in Manchester he moved nearer to his home in Worcester, joining Rowchester Chambers in Birmingham. There he developed his Immigration practice where he accepts a broad range of instructions from bail applications to Judicial Review.
His move to No. 8 Chambers marks a desire to undertake more Immigration work both in the First Tier and in the higher courts. In his Civil practice he has appeared in the County Court in the Fast and Small Claims tracks. His commercial background means that contractual disputes are another area where his background assists his clients.
He undertakes Firearms appeals on behalf of the police where his personal knowledge of the subject assists in negotiations with aggrieved appellants. He is keen to expand this part of his practice to represent appellants.
